About this Event:

This pop-up class will be taught in conjunction with the Falconry And Raptor Education Group (F.A.R.E.). It is a two-part program designed for people who want to learn about falconry, the art and sport of hunting with raptors. In the first portion of the class, we will talk about the sport of falconry, as well provide a basic overview of the birds used in falconry. In the second portion of the class, we will primarily discuss how falconry is practiced in the United States and how someone can get involved in our area. We ask that you only register for this program if you can attend both sessions. Live birds will be present, but we cannot guarantee any demonstrations.

About the Program

Overview:

Learn to scout, hunt, shoot, harvest, process and cook wild game.
Each learn to hunt class builds confidence in novice hunters and allows them to advance their skillsets towards becoming an independent hunter. Starting with scouting and finding places to hunt, students begin to lay the foundation for how they could plan a hunting experience in the field. From there, our instructors provide instruction in necessary gear, licenses, and skills needed to harvest the species of choice. From there, students learn how to successfully and ethically harvest the species of their choice, process the meat to prepare it for cooking, and finally cook their harvested wild game.
