About this Event:

We are taking our orienteering class to the next level. After mastering
orienting yourself to your landmarks and map it’s time to take
orienteering to the next level. This class will teach you how to read a
compass and record your bearings as well as how to measure your
pace.
Age: 12 and up

About the Program

Overview:

Learn how to kayak/canoe, cook in the outdoors, cross-country ski, snowshoe, and survive in the wilderness.
These courses introduce folks to practical skills for enjoying South Dakota’s landscape.  Classes include kayak and canoe classes on flat and moving bodies of water, skills for how to start a fire and cook on an open fire, and skills for wilderness survival.  During the winter months, these courses also include snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
