About this Event:

Replace those expensive freeze-dried meals with your own dehydrated ones. Individual, hearty, dehydrated meals will keep you full, healthy, and energized while backpacking, hunting, hiking, fishing, or on any outdoor adventure! The instructor will show you how to dehydrate then assemble meals from common ingredients such as noodles, hamburger, lunch meat, instant mashed potatoes, frozen mixed vegetables, gravy packets, quick oats, powdered milk, rice, and fruit.

About the Program

Overview:

Learn how to kayak/canoe, cook in the outdoors, cross-country ski, snowshoe, and survive in the wilderness.
These courses introduce folks to practical skills for enjoying South Dakota’s landscape.  Classes include kayak and canoe classes on flat and moving bodies of water, skills for how to start a fire and cook on an open fire, and skills for wilderness survival.  During the winter months, these courses also include snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
