Not only will this course help you gain experience in firearm handling, but our instructors will share tips and answer questions about hunting as a woman (exp. using the bathroom and feeling safe in the outdoors). July 24th will cover safe firearm handling, loading/unloading, and shooting .22 rifles. July 25th will cover clay target shooting and getting in and out of vehicles with firearms.

This is a hybrid class with an online pre-work portion and two in-person field days. To find the online course visit: https://www.hunter-ed.com/southdakota/

About the Program

Overview:

Learn to scout, hunt, shoot, harvest, process and cook wild game.
Each learn to hunt class builds confidence in novice hunters and allows them to advance their skillsets towards becoming an independent hunter. Starting with scouting and finding places to hunt, students begin to lay the foundation for how they could plan a hunting experience in the field. From there, our instructors provide instruction in necessary gear, licenses, and skills needed to harvest the species of choice. From there, students learn how to successfully and ethically harvest the species of their choice, process the meat to prepare it for cooking, and finally cook their harvested wild game.
