About this Event:

A fun ladies night is planned for you! This year special guest Callie Russell will start out the evening by presenting 89 days Alone in the Wilderness: finding Joy in Hardship Following the presentation, participants will be divided into groups, rotating through a four outdoor skill stations including a fire starting session led by Callie, where she will demonstrate several methods of fire making, (ferro rod, bow drill, and hand drill). Other stations will include fishing, archery and paddling.

About the Program

Overview:

Learn how to kayak/canoe, cook in the outdoors, cross-country ski, snowshoe, and survive in the wilderness.
These courses introduce folks to practical skills for enjoying South Dakota’s landscape.  Classes include kayak and canoe classes on flat and moving bodies of water, skills for how to start a fire and cook on an open fire, and skills for wilderness survival.  During the winter months, these courses also include snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
