About this Event:

Join us as we learn to backpack, pack a pack, and set up and tear down a campsite. We’ll discuss leave no trace principles and many of the decisions which need to be made before you can go out.
Please note: Class start times are posted in Central Daylight Time, but this class is set to start at 10:00AM Mountain Daylight Time.

About the Program

Overview:

Learn how to kayak/canoe, cook in the outdoors, cross-country ski, snowshoe, and survive in the wilderness.
These courses introduce folks to practical skills for enjoying South Dakota’s landscape.  Classes include kayak and canoe classes on flat and moving bodies of water, skills for how to start a fire and cook on an open fire, and skills for wilderness survival.  During the winter months, these courses also include snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
