About this Event:

Come learn to identify some medicinal and edible plants that are found in the Black Hills! This class is part lecture and part hike so please dress appropriately. Participants are also encouraged to bring a writing notebook, pen, camera, and water. We will not be eating during this class. Ages 12+. All youth must be accompanied by a registered adult.

About the Program


Learn how to kayak/canoe, cook in the outdoors, cross-country ski, snowshoe, and survive in the wilderness.
These courses introduce folks to practical skills for enjoying South Dakota’s landscape.  Classes include kayak and canoe classes on flat and moving bodies of water, skills for how to start a fire and cook on an open fire, and skills for wilderness survival.  During the winter months, these courses also include snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
