About this Event:

Learn how to dehydrate foods for backpacking or camping! Amy, one of our knowledgeable volunteers, will be breaking down the dehydration process of various foods, and then showing participants how to rehydrate them to create a meal! Participants will get to taste a homemade dehydrated meal and will also get to take home a homemade dehydrated meal kit.

Please note: Programs not specified as adult programs are considered family programs. All youth must be accompanied by an adult that has also registered for the program.

About the Program

Overview:

Learn how to kayak/canoe, cook in the outdoors, cross-country ski, snowshoe, and survive in the wilderness.
These courses introduce folks to practical skills for enjoying South Dakota’s landscape.  Classes include kayak and canoe classes on flat and moving bodies of water, skills for how to start a fire and cook on an open fire, and skills for wilderness survival.  During the winter months, these courses also include snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
