If you are interested in learning the basics to take your camping trips to the next level, this class is for you. This class will cover all the basic gear you need to consider when going out. Then come with us on a day’s backpacking trip. This is a 3-part class with a day hike on Saturday to set up a camp.

About the Program
Overview:
Learn how to kayak/canoe, cook in the outdoors, cross-country ski, snowshoe, and survive in the wilderness.
These courses introduce folks to practical skills for enjoying South Dakota’s landscape. Classes include kayak and canoe classes on flat and moving bodies of water, skills for how to start a fire and cook on an open fire, and skills for wilderness survival. During the winter months, these courses also include snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
