POP -UP Special Speaker – Raising Little Stripe – Caring for Monarchs from Egg to Butterfly, author, Joyce Hoberg Kaatz - Evening Class

Ms. Kaatz is passionate about Monarch butterflies along with raising their caterpillars and wants to share that with you! She will be leading two programs on Thursday, July 7th. The morning class will be from 10 to 11 a.m. This class will be held outside and include how to raise Monarch caterpillars along with a nature hike. The evening class will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. This class will be held inside with a slide show presentation.
Limited copies of her book will be available as well.

About the Program

Overview:

Learn about habitat, native plant and animal species, wildlife management, and other conservation practices. 
These courses offer the opportunity for the public to learn about South Dakota and its environment.  Learn about the specific aquatic and terrestrial habitats found in South Dakota and how native species are adapted for the climate.  Learn about native grasses, trees, or forbs and how they are quintessential to life here.  Classes also include understanding wildlife management and best practices when it comes to conservation.
