About this Event:

The purpose of this course is to provide educators the opportunity to be trained as instructors in HuntSafe and National Archery in the School Program (NASP). The HuntSAFE portion of the course will go through effective teaching techniques for firearm safety, hunting regulations, and conservation. The NASP portion of the course will go through archery's role in conservation, archery safety, and archery techniques. This course will be a hybrid class involving an online portion that must be completed prior to the in-person instruction. NASP and HuntSAFE will take place on site at the Hunter Education Building at The Outdoor Campus Rapid City.

This program offers college credit if desired. During event registration, you will be prompted to choose one of the following options:
  • Graduate Credit - 1 credit - University fee of $40 required
  • Undergraduate Credit - 1 credit - University fee of $40 required
  • Continuing Education Credit
  • No Credit Desired

About the Program

Overview:

Instructor Certification in HuntSAFE, National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP), FishSD, and Aquatic WILD.
By signing up for each course you will be able to receive instructor training to for certification in HuntSAFE, NASP, FishSD, and Aquatic Wild. Participants who pass the certifications will then have access to lesson plans and resources to be able to teach these courses to students. Each training course is set up for classroom learning, experiential learning, and out of class/asynchronous learning. Continuing Education Credits, Undergraduate, or Graduate level credits may be available for those who successfully complete the course.
